Work!

Help! After 3 weeks of lounging around, doing fuck-all at work, I finally have a deadline, and it's TOMORROW! Why am I still wasting time on my blog? Because I have come to a point where I am completely drained; I know I won't be able to finish it. Even if I do, it will merely be something completely mediocre.

Damn, why did I waste so much time on facebook, blogger, bbc, random websites and now that I have a ton of work piled up upon me I am STILL on blogger? I guess there's no explaining it other than - yup, I'm an idiot. Working with idiots can kill you! I am living proof.

Radiohead: New Album!

Radiohead have just announced that you can choose to pay any price you want for their latest album! It will be available for download on the 10th of October.

Instead of listing a price for the music, Radiohead's website simply states "it's up to you" - and then adds: "No really, it's up to you."

In Rainbows will be Radiohead's seventh album, but it is their first without a record label, having fulfilled their contract with EMI following 2003's Hail to the Thief.

Radiohead is one of my favourite bands of all time. I started listening to their music since I was a little girl. I remember listening to OK Computer on a loop when it was first released in 1997. OK Computer's rock feel and slight electronica influence was extremely different to the music that was playing on the radio at that time. Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Westlife; they were nothing compared to what I was listening on the discman.

Then 3 years later, Kid A was released. This album changed my life; its a work of musical genius. I have so much respect for Radiohead for being so experimental in their music style. I thank them for not staying static and dormant, just releasing the same old boring songs in the same old format (you hear that, RHCP, U2??). They had the guts to try something else, and broke the barrier between rock and electronica music.

Like I said, Kid A was a life-changer. Many a times we would smoke up and listen to this album. One of my favourite memories in life is after a very tiring night raving by the beach, we were all relaxing by the sea, listening to Idioteque, watching the sun rise. Nothing could have been more perfect.

So, you can understand my intense impatience for in rainbows to be released. I really can't wait. I have already pre-ordered it; I was wondering how much I should pay for it. I guess I could have just offered to pay 1p but then, how can I say they're my favourite band and pay nothing? (At least I wasn't downloading it for free on bittorrent?) but in the end I settled for a fiver. I have some heart at least! I am still a poor student...
